Gustavo Estrada
Director and Head Instructor
Gustavo Estrada has been working in the jewellery industry since 1994 and over the years his creations have been showcased multiple times in galleries, museums and exhibitions in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and New York.
With his teaching Gustavo is able to continually rediscover and share the fundamentals of his creative process through the art of making jewellery.
His experience and knowledge have been enriched by twenty-five years of teaching including the Centre des arts visuels de Montréal, the Saidye Bronfman Centre, the École des métiers du Sud-Ouest-de-Montréal, the École de Joaillerie de Montréal and the Nanjing Art Institute in China, as well as by his bachelor's degree in education from the Université de Montréal.
Since 2020, Gustavo has been involved with Atelier Artefact and the Montreal Academy of Metal Arts as co-founder, co-director and head instructor. The academy has flourished and today attracts diverse students of all levels to its metal arts classes, which are offered continually throughout the year.
Sharing his knowledge through teaching allows him to express his creativity while returning to the roots of his passion and love for the metal arts.
