Personal Projects: Intermediate

Classes for Beginners: Module 1+ Personal Projects

If you are a beginner you will complete exercises from Module 1 until the module is complete. After Module 1 you will pursue projects of your own design based on your skill level. Projects will be overseen by the teacher and instruction offered throughout the process.

Fusion and Reticulation Exploration

Instructor: Norsola Johnson

Fusion and reticulation are fantastic techniques for adding depth, dimension, and interest to your jewellery work. Fusion can also be a great use of your left-over metal bits and scraps. Join us to discover these fascinating processes in metal.

Drawing and Design for Jewellery

Instructor: Gustavo Estrada

Unlock your creativity in our drawing and design course. Gain an understanding of how to present your jewellery ideas as drawings, so that your teachers and clients can better understand your design concepts.

Enhance your design communication skills with Gustavo and then to further explore the process, create one piece you have drawn in the studio.

Patinas and Surface Texture Exploration

Instructor: Norsola Johnson

Join us for a fun workshop that will explore adding interesting finishes and colour to metal using different mediums. Learn techniques to add colour and shading to your jewellery designs.

- Satin, matte, brushed and burred (with regular and/or diamond burrs).

- Rolling mill textures

- Chemical patinas, heat treatments, verdigris, oxidization, whitening

- Coloured pencils

- Protection and preservation: renaissance wax, sealants, lacquers.
